Over the last years our ARE / AREX hot plate stirrer has become a reference product for VELP and our customers: it has become a best seller worldwide and a standard for reliability and durability. In keeping with our mission of continuous product improvement, the new ARE/AREX 5 hotplate stirrer has been redesigned for improved performance and safety.
New design for unmatched reliability and safety
The new ARE/AREX 5 series is designed to be highly compact and low profile, providing excellent comfort on the bench and in the lab hood. The internal electronics are protected by an insulating disk which, together with the robust die-cast aluminum housing, enables the ARE/AREX 5 series to withstand the most demanding laboratory environments and applications, e.g. when working with cold media (below 0°C).
The new intuitive control panel and its inclination have been carefully studied to optimize the user experience for all laboratory operators and provide excellent visibility and ease of use. Furthermore, since the control panel has been placed at a safe distance from heat sources, we can guarantee a high level of protection against possible damage caused by liquid spills. Complete safety is ensured by adding an indicator on analog models, notifying the operator when the heating is on and the temperature of the plate is above 50°C (even if the instrument is off). Safety circuit and over-temperature protection can protect users in daily operation.
Our hotplate stirrers are designed for maximum life and come with a 3-year warranty (online product registration required).
Brushless motor for enhanced stirring performance
Rely on the VELP Series 5 sturdy hotplate stirrer and its powerful brushless motor for all laboratory applications and reactions such as sample and buffer solution preparation. VELP Series 5 features gentle yet precise stirring speeds (up to 1500 rpm). All hotplate stirrers are equipped with the VELP designed SpeedServo™ torque compensation technology which ensures a constant speed even if the viscosity of the medium varies.
Consistent heating performance for all laboratory applications
The plates of the ARE/AREX 5 series have been completely redesigned to ensure excellent temperature uniformity and optimal heat transfer over the entire surface, as well as reduced energy consumption (-18% compared to previous models) and increased protection against chemicals and scratches. Users can choose between CerAlTopTM (ceramic-coated aluminum alloy) plates with a diameter of 135 mm available on the AREX 5 and AREX 5 Digital models and aluminum alloy plates with a diameter of 135 mm available on the ARE 5 and RC 5. The temperature setting can be easily adjusted from room temperature to 310°C by turning the left knob. Furthermore, when temperature regulation of liquids is required, it is possible to connect AREX 5 with VTF or AREX 5 Digital with VTF, Pt100 and the new Pt1000.
